Malborghetto-Valbruna
The sixteenth century Palazzo Veneziano houses the Ethnographic Museum, which tells the story, the characteristics of the environment and the traditions of the area of the mountain community Valcanale-Canal del Ferro. The museum also houses an interesting section dedicated to the forest area of Tarvisio.
If you drive towards Malborghetto, it's worth to take a pause in Bagni di Lusnizza, known for its sulphurous waters and wonderful picnic area.
Bikelovers can enjoy the bike path that leads through Ugovizza, where there are many restaurants and cafès to take a rest after a long bike ride.
Curiosity
Malborghetto is situated in a beautiful location in Val Canale: at the foot of the mountain massif of the Julian Alps. During the Middle Ages it was called Bamberghetto - Bonborghetto. Due to the attacks of the Venetians in the valley and the ongoing struggles of the indigenous population with the Habsburgs, and probably also due to the unfavorable economic situation, the name was changed to Malborghetto.
